Suan Tang Mian – 10 minute hot and sour noodles When you’re stuck for dinner ideas, try these quick and simple hot and sour noodles.
The sour taste is provided by the black vinegar, which is said to be beneficial in boosting the appetizer. For noodle soups, we offer a variety of excellent spices, such as Chongqing Noodles and Sichuan Dan Dan noodles. And the majority of them need a lengthy ingredient list, including pre-prepared spices such as chile oil and other difficult-to-find components. This one is simple to make and requires just common household items.
This dish is based on Biang Biang noodles, a famous Shanxi dish with a spicy and sour taste.
What’s the best way to create a soup base?
Place garlic, scallion, chili powder, and sesame seeds in serving dishes. Then, in a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil and pour it over the spices. Take cautious not to get yourself burned.
Then season with salt, light soy sauce, sesame oil, black vinegar, and light soy sauce. Mix thoroughly. Then take 1/2 cup of water and use it to cook the noodles.
Cook the vegetables and noodles together. Place the noodles in individual serving dishes. Serve immediately!

Suan Tang noodles, 10 minutes hot and sour noodles
Calories per serving: 144 kcal
- 1 pound of fresh noodles
- dark leafy greens
- 1 tbsp. garlic, minced
- 1 tblsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tbsp. sesame seeds, roasted
- 1 tbsp. scallion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- a quarter teaspoon of salt
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (mild)
- 1 tblsp. balsamic vinegar

Cook the noodles in 1.5 cups of water, then transfer the noodles to serving dishes. Serve immediately!
