Char Siu Noodles are a popular Hong Kong style dish, made up of thin Chinese noodles stir fried with barbecued pork, shrimp and vegetables. They’re traditionally served in a sweet-sour sauce flavored with soy sauce or hoisin, but can also be garnished with fresh herbs for more flavor. Here’s how to make the best Char Siu Noodles at home!

Char Siu Noodles are a type of Chinese noodle soup. The noodles are made from wheat flour and water, and the soup is typically flavored with soy sauce, sugar, rice wine, sesame oil, five-spice powder, ginger, garlic and spring onion. Read more in detail here: char siu noodle soup.

Sweet char siu with noodles made in a snap. If you’re a fan of Chinese Char Siu, this is a quick and simple version with noodles. Marinate the meat the night before and then cook it the following day. Within 30 minutes, you may have a delicious noodle meal.

The spicy and sweet taste of Chinese Char Siu is really unique. This is one of my favorite flavors since it goes with so many other foods.

In China, there are many different types of char siu. For coloring, most restaurants use simple ingredients such as soy sauce, oyster sauce, Chinese five spice powder, aromatics, and red yeast rice powder. However, using char siu sauce, which has a 100% success rate, is a more home cooking friendly option.

Instructions

To begin, poke holes in the pork butt slice. Then, using char siu sauce, light soy sauce, garlic, and ginger, marinade the pork butt (or pork belly). Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator overnight.

Only use pork baking cracks (discarding garlic and ginger). Brush with a mixture of marinating sauce, 1 teaspoon honey, and 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil.

Preheat the oven to 200°C and roast the pork butt for 30 minutes. After 10 and 20 minutes, remove the pork and brush it with the marinating sauce. Keep in mind to flip around. Cut the cake into pieces.

Ingredients

  • 2 servings noodles (egg noodle, quick noodle, or rice noodle)
  • As required, green vegetables, choy sum, Chinese broccoli, or broccoli
  • 200 g butte de porc
  • char siu sauce, 3 tbsp.
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (mild)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 ginger thumb
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • a half teaspoon of sesame oil

Sauce for noodle

  • char siu sauce (1 tbsp.)
  • light soy sauce (1/2 tbsp.)
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • a quarter teaspoon of Chinese five spice powder
