Gulkand milkshake – rose petal milkshake recipe
The Gulkand milkshake is an ideal summer drink because it refreshes the body and protects it from heat stroke. Gulkand is nothing more than a jam or marmalade made from rose petals. It is a refreshing tonic according to Ayurveda and an essential ingredient in making paan (a betel leaf that is digestive and refreshing to the mouth). Gulkand has many benefits, according to Ayurveda. It purifies the blood, improves appetite and digestion, treats hyperacidity, refreshes the body, is good for the eyesight, acts as a mild laxative and improves the complexion of the skin. It has a unique taste and an enticing aroma.
Gulkand – rose petal jam
You can gulkand at home if you have access to desi or wild roses. I will share a homemade gulkand recipe in my next few posts. This is a super quick shake recipe, assuming you have boiled milk on hand. Cool the milk in the fridge for a few minutes, add gulkand and rose syrup to the cooled milk, stir and the gulkand milk shake is ready. I usually add rose syrup to give this refreshing summer drink a nice rosy hue. But it’s purely optional. Add this tasty shake to your list of summer drink recipes.
