Karandi Omelette Recipe

Karandi Omelette Ingredients: 2 large (eggs) 2 cups of spinach (fresh or frozen) 1 cup water 1 tablespoon olive oil 3 garlic cloves 1/2 cup of onion, chopped 1/4 cup of red bell pepper, chopped 1/2 cup of mushrooms, chopped 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp dried thyme. The Karandi Omelette is a popular breakfast dish in many countries in South East Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines, as well as in parts of China and Japan. The origin of the Karandi Egg is a mystery, however. Variations of the omelette can be found in many countries in the region.

Karandi is a typical Filipino breakfast dish but is often eaten as a lunch dish. It consists of an egg of your choice, cooked in egg white and oil, with a small amount of vegetables chopped or sliced. You may serve it with a side of rice, or better yet, rice and eggs together.

Traditionally, just onions and green chilies are added to a karandi omelette. However, mushrooms and cheese are added to the karandi omelette in this recipe that I’m presenting with you. Along with eggs, mushrooms and cheese make a wonderful ingredient combo.

My favorite omelette has always been a cheese and mushroom omelette. One of my favorite combos here is a fluffy omelette loaded with plenty of cheese and juicy mushrooms.

Why do we like this Karandi Omelette so much?

  • It’s a delicious Indian breakfast dish that’s high in protein.
  • On a hectic day, a simple egg dish is ideal for breakfast.
  • I’ve been following a fat first regimen for the last several days, in which I eat something rich in fat first. According to the food plan I’m following, it’s perfect for me. The majority of the time, though, I avoid cheese.

Karandi Omelette Ingredients

Farm fresh eggs are used to create this wonderful omelette. To create any egg dish, I like to use free-range or organic eggs.

Onions and green chilies are required ingredients in most Indian omelettes.

Season with salt to taste.

Cooking with ghee or butter: I like to cook using ghee or butter since they are both healthier fats. You may, however, use any vegetable or olive oil if you want.

How to Make Fluffy Karandi Omelette (Recipe)

  1. Ghee should be heated in a karandi pan.
  2. Combine the chopped onions and green chilies in a bowl. Allow for a minute of cooking time.
  3. Cook for another 2 minutes after adding the chopped mushrooms.
  4. Turn off the heat and let the onion and mushroom combination cool.
  5. Crack two eggs into a small bowl. Add the onion mushroom combination that has been cooked and cooled.
  6. Salt, red chili powder, dried mixed herbs, and chopped coriander are all good additions.
  7. Mix everything up well.
  8. In the same karandi pan, melt 1 teaspoon ghee.
  9. Pour the egg mixture into the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
  10. Continue to move the eggs from the edges to the center of the pan as they cook to ensure that they are completely cooked.

Notes about the recipe:

  • Make sure the mushrooms and onion are cooked first.
  • If you don’t cool the filling before mixing it with the eggs, it will curdle and the omelette won’t taste as nice.
  • Otherwise, the omelette may be uncooked in the center if cooked over low to medium heat.
  • If you don’t like mushrooms, use bell peppers, shredded chicken, tofu, shredded zucchini, or other vegetables.
