Kharbooj ki sabzi – sweet and sour melon cooked with Indian spices

Kharbooj Ki Sabzi- Sweet melon comes in many shapes and colors, but they all have two things in common – sweet, juicy flesh and great taste, so it’s hard to say no to melon, but what are you going to do when the melon you take home turns out to be raw and flavorless….. This happened to me last week.

So I decided to make a curry out of it, which turned out to be so delicious and flavorful. Try this kharbuj ki sabzi if your melon lets you down.

Harbuj ki Sabzi

Kharbooj ki subzi – Stone melon cooked with Indian spices

Ingredients

  • 2 cups oatmeal, chopped melon
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon p p
  • 1/2 tsp. g/adrak
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons fresh coriander
  • 1,5 Teelöffel ghee or oil
  • 1/2 Teelöffel Kreuzkümmel/jirah

Instructions

  • Peel the melon, remove the seeds and cut into medium-sized pieces.
  • Slice the ginger, green chili and fresh coriander.
  • Heat the ghee in a pan, add the cumin seeds. When the seeds start to crackle, add the green chillies and turmeric.
  • Add the chopped melon slices and salt and mix well.
  • Then add the chili flakes and ginger, stir and cook covered until soft.
  • Now add the sugar and lemon juice, cook for one minute.
  • Add fresh cilantro and serve.
  • Side dishes – best with bedi and paratha
