The prior Famous Amos Style Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies were just irresistible to me. You’ll enjoy the delightful crunch in every mouthful of this crackly and buttery treat. I also liked how little it was. I could easily eat ten of them without feeling bad! Each cookie is prepared with just 1 spoonful of dough.

I wanted to give these cookies a unique spin. When it comes to flavour, matcha is my ultimate fave. In the cookie batter, I used matcha powder. Then, to counteract the matcha’s bitterness, I replaced the dark chocolate chips with white chocolate chips. If you like matcha, you should give this recipe a try. They’re so delicious that it’s almost hard to stop at just one.

Selecting the Best Matcha

Some of you may be perplexed by the distinction between green tea and matcha. Matcha is not to be confused with the green tea you may have at home or at Japanese restaurants. The names are a little misleading since green tea and matcha are often used interchangeably, but they aren’t exactly the same. Both matcha and green tea are made from the same camellia sinensis plant, although they are cultivated and processed differently.

Matcha is a powder produced from entire green tea leaves that have been finely ground. Matcha contains considerably more ingredients and a richer taste than green tea since the whole leaf is powdered and consumed rather than simply water absorbed through the tea leaves. Furthermore, since matcha is produced from shade-grown tea leaves, you cannot ground ordinary green tea to make it. The leaves of ordinary green tea are left in the sun to be processed. Matcha bushes, on the other hand, are kept underneath to maximize the amount of chlorophyll and amino acids in the leaves. Matcha has a considerably stronger taste than green tea because of this.

Please keep in mind that matcha is available in two grades: ceremonial and culinary. Matcha of ceremonial grade is regarded to be of better quality and should be consumed. In the meanwhile, the culinary-grade powder is designed for baking and frying.

 

This recipe yields a large number of cookies.

They produce hundreds of cookies since they are so little. I prefer to prepare a large quantity and freeze some portioned, unbaked cookie dough for those occasions when you need a sweet treat to give or enjoy yourself.

For the complete tiny look, mini chocolate chips should be used. These little cookies would be overwhelmed if they were made with regular chocolate chips. If you only have normal chocolate chips, discs, or bars, try cutting them into tiny pieces to make them seem like micro chips.

These cookies should be portioned into third-teaspoon balls. To divide the dough for these cookies, I use a teaspoon scoop. To ensure that they all bake properly, I always suggest using the measuring spoon to achieve uniform size.

Don’t Forget To Chill The Dough!

The taste of the dough is enhanced by chilling it, and it keeps its form in the oven. The taste of the chilled cookies was significantly richer because the dough dries up somewhat as it cools, concentrating the flavor and providing crispier, chewier edges. Chilling the dough also allows the gluten in the dough to relax, which contributes to the crispier texture of the edges. And the color intensifies as well, resulting in a lovely deep-colored cookie rather than a light one.

The flavor, texture, and color of these cookies are all affected by the various chilling times. Although the 24-hour cookies are tasty, I prefer the 48- and 72-hour cookies since they are much more flavourful. The chilling is important in this scene, so don’t miss it. If you don’t have a lot of time, chilling the dough for just 2 hours will ensure that the cookies keep their form in the oven.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter, room temperature (150 g)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (light) (150 gr)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar + 1/4 cup (75 gr)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon extract de vanille
  • malted milk powder (1 1/2 tbsp)
  • 2 1/4 cup flour (all-purpose) (270 gr)
  • matcha powder, 2 tbsp
  • 1 and a half teaspoons of baking powder
  • a half teaspoon of baking soda
  • a quarter teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips, mini (180 gr)

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or stand mixer equipped with a paddle attachment. With a spatula, scrape the side.
  2. Combine the egg, vanilla essence, and malted milk powder in a mixing bowl. Mix everything together until it’s smooth.
  3. All-purpose flour, matcha powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt are sifted together. Mix on the lowest speed until everything is incorporated. With a spatula, fold in the white chocolate chips.
  4. Allow the dough to chill for at least 2 hours and up to 3 days. The greater the taste, the longer the dough is chilled.
  5. Preheat the oven to 320°F/160°C when ready to bake. Use parchment paper or nonstick baking mats to line baking sheets.
  6. Scoop Roll out 3/4 teaspoon of dough into towering mounds. Place them on the baking sheets that have been prepared.
  7. For 11- 13 minutes, bake until golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool fully on a cooling rack.
