Ingredients for Strawberry Lassi

  • Strawberries: Fresh strawberries are delicious in this recipe, but if you don’t have fresh strawberries, you can use frozen strawberries in this recipe.
  • Yogurt: It is the main ingredient of the drink. You can use plain yogurt, Greek yogurt or homemade cottage cheese. You can use homemade or store-bought yogurt. If you want to make a vegan version, you can use vegan yogurt like cashew or almond yogurt to make this lassi vegan.
  • Sweetener : I use sugar to sweeten the strawberry lassi. You can use stevia or another sugar substitute. You can use natural sugars like honey, agave or maple syrup if you wish.

How to make strawberry lassi

First I open the strawberries and remove the green, leafy part and the stalk. After I chop the strawberries, I make a paste of strawberries and sugar in a blender. Instead of sugar, you can use candy of your choice. To the strawberry puree I add yoghurt, ice cubes and a little water or milk and beat again with a mixer until smooth. Serve this chilled strawberry lassi in a glass and garnish with a mint leaf or top it off with vanilla or caramel ice cream and enjoy this refreshing drink or dessert.

Tips for a perfect Lassi

  1. Try to choose bright red, flawless and firm strawberries. Avoid brightly colored or raw foods.
  2. Store-bought yogurt contains sweeteners. If you’re worried about sugar or calories, choose a less-sweetened yogurt or a sugar-free yogurt. Greek yogurt is thicker than regular yogurt. If you are using Greek yogurt for the lassi, add ¼ cup of water to this recipe.
  3. You can adjust the consistency of the lassis by adding milk, water or ice.
  4. To make it even more delicious, you can serve it for dessert with a scoop of caramel ice cream, nougat or plain vanilla ice cream.
